Jayne & Steve’s Cecil Peak Heli Elopement

This incredible Queenstown elopement was the definition of ‘doing your wedding your way.’

The day started in the peaceful luxury of Millbrook Resort, where Jayne and Steve got ready together with some Central Otago bubbles, a few of their closest friends, and the most relaxed pre wedding atmosphere I’ve ever experienced.

Once Jayne’s make up and hair was perfectly done by Kirsty Penetito and Tina Andrews from HairToWed we jumped in a heli and headed for The Ledge at Cecil Peak - one of Queenstown’s most breathtaking elopement locations just a 5 minute flight from Queenstown.

Up on the mountain, with the Remarkables, Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown stretching out below us, they shared their vows in an intimate, heartfelt ceremony led by the amazing Queenstown celebrant Ellita Thomas.
The afternoon light was bright but reflected perfectly off the clouds, the air was crisp, and every moment was captured in a natural, storytelling style with a few artistic/ editorial style photos.

Back on the ground, Jayne and Steve’s closest friends were waiting at Millbrook Resort for a toast and one of the most epic champagne pops of all time! We then headed to Cargo Brewery to meet up with all their favourite people to celebrate with some canapés, craft beer, and some beautiful speeches. The party carried on into the night with some epic tunes, good vibes and a raging dance floor!

There really is no “right way” to celebrate your love. It’s all about the person you love, and the experiences you want to live on one of the most memorable days of you life.
